On 31 October 2025, a thematic class hour on the topic “Mother Tongue — The Treasure of a Nation” was held for 12th-grade students at the Makhinjauri Maritime School.

The students discussed the life and remarkable contributions of Jakob Gogebashvili to the development of the Georgian language, education, and national consciousness.

Particular attention was given to Gogebashvili’s tireless efforts in establishing and promoting public schools in Georgia.

The aim of the class hour was to foster students’ understanding of the significance of their mother tongue and to deepen their respect for national values.
