On February 10, 2026, an event dedicated to celebrating International Book Reading Day was held at the Makhinjauri Maritime School, organized by the school library.
The invited guests at the meeting were poet Bella Keburia and poet Bagrat Akujba, a graduate of the vocational education program at Batumi Navigation University. The event was also attended by the Georgian language and literature teacher of Makhinjauri Maritime School, Anzhela Jakeli.
The guests spoke about the importance of books and education in modern society, the role of reading in a person’s spiritual and personal development, as well as the influence of literature on the formation of a value system.
As part of the event, the invited authors read poems from their own works to the audience, which gave the meeting a creative and interactive character.
The event aimed to promote books and strengthen the culture of reading among the younger generation.
