On April 23, 2026, World Book and Copyright Day was celebrated at Makhinjauri Maritime School. The event was organized by the school library.

As part of the celebration, students and vocational students of Makhinjauri Maritime School exchanged books as gifts. This activity highlighted the role of books as a universal and meaningful gift that contributes to raising public awareness and promoting the value of reading.

Alongside the book exchange, students and vocational students had the opportunity to share their emotions and perspectives by leaving written reflections on the topic of what the library means to them.

World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated annually at the initiative of UNESCO, with the aim of promoting reading and encouraging appreciation of books and literature.
